gummy bear sangria

Easy Gummy Bear Sangria — Fruity Party Punch is my go to move when I need something fun, colorful, and basically guaranteed to get a “wait, what’s in this?” from friends. You know those nights when people are coming over, you’ve got snacks handled, but you forgot the drinks? Yep, this is for that moment. It’s fruity, lightly fizzy, and it tastes like a grown up punch bowl with a playful twist. The best part is you can prep most of it ahead, then just pour and stir when the doorbell rings. And yes, the gummy bears are not optional in my house.

How to Make Raspberry Sangria Punch

Okay, so here’s how I make my version, which leans raspberry because it plays so well with wine and citrus and it looks gorgeous in a pitcher. This is not a fussy recipe. If you can open bottles and slice fruit, you’re good.

What you will need

• 1 bottle chilled white wine (I like Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, or a dry Riesling)
• 1 to 1 1/2 cups raspberry lemonade (or regular lemonade plus a splash of raspberry syrup)
• 1/2 cup orange juice (fresh is great, bottled is fine)
• 1 cup fresh raspberries (plus extra for serving)
• 1 orange, thinly sliced
• 1 lemon, thinly sliced
• 1 to 2 cups gummy bears (classic or sour, your call)
• 12 to 16 oz sparkling water, lemon lime soda, or prosecco (add right before serving)
• Ice (optional, but helpful)

Directions (my no stress method)

1) Grab a big pitcher. Add the raspberries, orange slices, lemon slices, and gummy bears first. This lets everything start mingling right away.

2) Pour in the wine, raspberry lemonade, and orange juice. Give it a gentle stir.

3) Cover and chill it for at least 2 hours. Overnight is even better if you want stronger fruit flavor and softer gummy bears.

4) Right before serving, add your bubbly (sparkling water, soda, or prosecco). Stir once or twice.

5) Pour into glasses and make sure each glass gets a few gummies and some fruit.

Quick heads up: gummy bears soak up liquid like little sponges. That’s part of the fun, but it also means they get boozy over time. If kids are around the party, I keep the pitcher out of their reach and I’ll sometimes make a separate alcohol free version for them.

About Raspberry Sangria Variations

This punch is super flexible. I’ve made it a bunch of different ways depending on what I had in the fridge and what kind of crowd was coming over. The basic idea stays the same: wine plus fruit plus a sweet tangy mixer plus something fizzy at the end.

If you want it lighter and bright, go with a crisp white wine and sparkling water. If you want it sweeter, use lemon lime soda or ginger ale. If you want it a little fancy, top it with prosecco.

Here are a few easy swaps that still taste great:

Switch the fruit: Strawberries, blackberries, sliced peaches, or even pineapple work. I keep raspberries as the main star when I can, but I’ve tossed in whatever looked good at the store.

Switch the wine: Rosé is amazing here and makes the color extra pretty. A light red wine can work too, but then I usually skip the raspberry lemonade and use regular lemonade.

Switch the gummies: Sour gummy bears give it a zing that people weirdly love. If you use super fruity gummies, keep the mixer more tart so it doesn’t get too sweet.

If you’re in a white wine mood, you might like this too: Easy Sangria Blanca White Wine Fruit Punch. It’s more classic, still easy, and it’s great when you want something a little less playful than gummy bears.

“I brought this to a backyard hangout and people hovered around the pitcher all night. The gummies were gone first, obviously. It tasted like summer and we’re already planning a repeat.”

Tips for the Perfect Sangria

I’ve made this enough times to learn what matters and what really doesn’t. Here are my best practical tips so your Easy Gummy Bear Sangria — Fruity Party Punch turns out balanced and party ready.

Chill everything first. Cold wine, cold lemonade, cold fruit if possible. If you start cold, you won’t need a ton of ice, and you won’t water it down.

Add bubbles at the end. Sparkling water and soda go flat fast. I add it right before serving, or even let guests top off their own glasses.

Don’t go too sweet too fast. Gummy bears already bring sweetness. If your lemonade is very sweet, choose a drier wine and use sparkling water instead of soda.

Let it sit. Two hours is the minimum for the fruit to do its thing. Overnight is awesome, but if you let it go too long (like 24 hours plus), the citrus can get a little bitter and the gummies can get super soft. Not bad, just different.

Use a big pitcher or drink dispenser. This disappears quickly. When I think I made enough, I usually didn’t.

Healthier Alternatives for Sangria

Let’s be real, Easy Gummy Bear Sangria — Fruity Party Punch is meant to be fun first. But you can absolutely nudge it in a lighter direction without making it sad.

Use sparkling water instead of soda. This is the easiest change. You keep the fizz but cut a lot of sugar.

Choose a dry wine. Dry whites and brut prosecco help keep the sweetness under control, especially with gummies involved.

Use fresh juice or less mixer. Try more orange slices and raspberries, then reduce the lemonade a bit. You’ll still get flavor, just less sugar.

Try an alcohol light version. Do half wine and half sparkling water, then add fruit and gummies. It’s still festive but less boozy.

Make a mocktail pitcher. Use white grape juice, lemonade, sparkling water, and lots of fruit. Add gummy bears right before serving so they don’t dissolve too much.

One note if you are watching sugar: gummy bears do add it, no way around that. Sometimes I just use fewer and serve extra on the side so people can add their own.

Serving Suggestions for Raspberry Sangria

This drink is basically a party by itself, but I like to set it up so people can serve themselves and the whole table looks inviting.

• Serve it in a clear pitcher so you can see the fruit and the gummy bears
• Set out small cups or a scoop for extra gummies (people love customizing)
• Add a bowl of extra raspberries and citrus slices for topping
• Use fun ice cubes (freeze raspberries inside if you want to be extra, but not required)
• Pair with simple snacks like chips and salsa, a cheese board, or sliders

For holidays, I switch the fruit to something more seasonal and lean into the party vibe. If you need a festive option for colder months, this one is a lifesaver: Deliciously Easy Christmas Punch for Holiday Cheer.

Also, if you’re serving outside, keep the pitcher in a bowl of ice so it stays cold longer. Warm sangria is not the vibe.

Common Questions

Can I make this the night before?

Yes. It’s actually better after a few hours. Just wait to add sparkling water or soda until right before serving so it stays fizzy.

What wine is best for this?

I like a dry, crisp white wine. Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc are easy wins. If your mixer is sweet, go drier on the wine.

Do the gummy bears dissolve?

They usually don’t fully dissolve, but they get softer and plumper. If you want them chewier, add them closer to serving time.

How do I keep it from being too sweet?

Use sparkling water instead of soda, pick a dry wine, and don’t overdo the lemonade. You can always add more sweetness later, but you can’t easily take it out.

Can I make it alcohol free?

Totally. Swap the wine for white grape juice or a nonalcoholic white wine, then use sparkling water and lots of fruit. Add gummies right before serving.
