Ingredients

Popcorn Base
  • 10-12 cups popped popcorn About two standard microwave bags or a half cup of kernels popped on the stove.
Coating Options
  • 1 cup candy melts or white chocolate Candy melts are easiest as they set quickly.
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or neutral oil To loosen thick melted chocolate if necessary.
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup candy corn or mellowcreme pumpkins
  • 1 cup mini pretzels or pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup Halloween sprinkles
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate sandwich cookies
  • 1 cup mini chocolate candies

Method

Preparation
  1. Pop your popcorn and pour it into a very large bowl. Pick out any unpopped kernels.
  2. Melt candy melts or white chocolate in the microwave in short bursts, stirring often. If it looks thick, add a tiny spoon of coconut oil or neutral oil to loosen it.
Assembly
  1. Drizzle the melted coating over the popcorn. Use two big spoons to gently toss until most pieces are lightly coated.
  2. Immediately add mix-ins like candy corn, Halloween sprinkles, mini marshmallows, or crushed cookies. Toss once or twice more.
  3. Spread it out on a parchment lined sheet pan and let it set for about 15 to 25 minutes. Then break into clusters.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2-3 days. If it's humid, it may soften faster. Can be made in advance, but best if consumed within 24 hours.
