Ingredients
  

Casserole Base
  • 4 cups Stuffing or dressing Use what you have, torn dinner rolls can also work.
  • 3 cups Chopped turkey or ham Make sure to tuck it between layers to keep it juicy.
  • 3 cups Mashed potatoes Consider adding a bit of milk if they are too stiff.
  • 2 cups Mixed vegetables (green beans, peas, corn, etc.) Use your favorite leftover vegetables.
  • 1 cup Gravy Thin with broth if too thick.
  • 0.5 cups Cranberry sauce Optional, but adds a sweet-tart flavor.
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese Optional, adds a great topping.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Warm up the gravy; if thick, stir in broth or water to make it pourable.
  2. Press a layer of stuffing into the bottom of a greased baking dish.
  3. Spread an even layer of chopped turkey over the stuffing.
  4. Add the mixed vegetables on top of the turkey.
  5. Pour gravy over the turkey and vegetables to fill in gaps.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of mashed potatoes on top and gently spread.
  7. Top with a thin layer of stuffing or cheese.
Baking
  1. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for about 25 minutes.
  2. Uncover and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

This casserole can be assembled ahead of time and baked when you're ready. It keeps well and can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours before baking. Leftovers can be stored in the fridge for 3 to 4 days. For best results, reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispness on top.
