Preparation
- Heat your oven to 350 F (175 C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- Pour the uncooked rice into the dish and spread it out evenly.
- Add the beef consommé and French onion soup over the rice. Stir gently to ensure the rice is mostly covered.
- Slice the butter into thin pats and lay them evenly over the top.
- Cover tightly with foil and bake for about 50 to 60 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes if you want golden edges. Let it sit for 5 minutes before fluffing and serving.
Notes
Use long grain white rice for best results. Cover tightly to retain steam, and don't skimp on butter for flavor.
