Ingredients
  

For the Potato Mixture
  • 3 pounds cooked potatoes (russets or Yukon Gold) Peel and boil until fork-tender.
  • 4 tablespoons butter For mashing the potatoes.
  • 1/2 cup milk Adjust to achieve desired consistency.
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Can substitute with vegan cheddar.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt Season to taste.
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper Season to taste.
For Baking
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter For brushing the skulls before baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Peel and boil potatoes until fork-tender, then drain.
  2. Mash cooked potatoes with butter and milk until smooth.
  3. Stir in cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until evenly mixed.
  4. Scoop the mixture into a silicone skull mold, packing it tightly.
  5. Smooth the tops and place on a baking sheet, skull-side up.
  6. Brush the tops with olive oil or melted butter.
Cooking
  1. Preheat oven to 400°F and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and crispy.
  2. Let cool slightly before removing from the mold.

Notes

These bites can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge or frozen. Brush with more melted butter for extra crispiness.
