  • 4-6 large eggs For an egg-style variation.
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes For a spicy variation.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add softened cream cheese to the sausage and stir until melted and combined.
  4. If using, stir in optional ingredients like shredded cheese or cooked veggies.
Assembly
  1. Roll out the crescent roll dough in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, sealing seams by pinching together.
  2. Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  3. If using eggs, whisk them with a splash of milk and pour over the filling.
  4. Top with remaining crescent roll dough, sealing the seams again.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden and puffed.
  2. Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
  3. Serve warm.

Notes

Can be made ahead of time. Prep at night, store in the fridge, and bake in the morning. Adjust baking time if starting cold.
