Ingredients
  

For the Sausage Balls
  • 1 pound Breakfast sausage (pork, turkey, or spicy)
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese (sharp) Freshly shredded works best
  • 2 cups Baking mix (like Bisquick)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2-4 tablespoons Milk Add if the mixture is too dry
For the Chipotle Honey Mustard Dip
  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup Mustard (Dijon or yellow)
  • 2-3 tablespoons Honey Adjust for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon Chipotle in adobo, minced Plus 1/2 teaspoon adobo sauce
  • Pinch of salt and black pepper
  • Optional squeeze of lemon For brightness

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sausage, cheddar, baking mix, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until well combined, adding milk if necessary.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls, aiming for a size similar to walnuts.
  4. Place the sausage balls on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18 to 22 minutes until browned and cooked through.
  5. While the sausage balls bake, prepare the dip by mixing together mayonnaise, mustard, honey, chipotle, adobo sauce, salt, and black pepper. Adjust ingredients to taste.
  6. Serve sausage balls warm with the dip.

Notes

Let the sausage balls sit for about 5 minutes after baking to cool slightly. They can be frozen unbaked or baked for later use. The dip can be made a day prior and stored in the fridge.
