  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent roll dough Gotta love the popping sound.
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage Pork or chicken, your choice.
  • 1.5 cups shredded cheese Cheddar is classic; feel free to mix it up.
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onions Optional; skip if you’re in a hurry.
  • 1 clove garlic, minced Optional, but adds great flavor.
  • 1 pinch black pepper Adjust to taste.

  • to taste peppers or spinach Add for extra flavor.
  • to taste hot sauce For those who enjoy spice.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Unroll the crescent dough and arrange it in a circle on a baking sheet, overlapping the wide ends of the triangles toward the center.
  3. Press to seal where possible.
  4. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked.
  5. Spoon the cooked sausage onto the center of the crescent dough.
  6. Scatter the shredded cheese and chopped onions over the sausage.
  7. Fold the pointy ends of the dough over the filling and tuck them underneath, creating a ring.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and bubbly.
  2. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Leftovers can be wrapped and stored in the fridge or reheated in a toaster oven. This dish can be prepared ahead of time and chilled before baking.
