Ingredients

For the glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, sifted if lumpy
  • 2-3 tablespoons milk (start small) Adjust for desired consistency
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional) Adds flavor
  • a pinch salt (optional) Enhances sweetness

Method

Mixing the Glaze
  1. Add the powdered sugar to a bowl.
  2. Stir in 2 tablespoons of milk. The mixture will look thick at first.
  3. Continue stirring for about 20 to 30 seconds, then decide if you need to add more milk for a drizzle or keep it thicker for icing.

Notes

You can use different liquids like lemon juice or coffee for flavor. If the glaze becomes too thin, add more powdered sugar; if too thick, add liquid by the teaspoon. Best used on warm baked goods for melting effect.
