- Pat the pork chops dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the sliced onions and mushrooms.
- Sauté until the onions and mushrooms are soft and beginning to brown.
- Add the minced garlic and stir again.
- Sprinkle the flour over the mixture and cook for 1-2 minutes to eliminate the raw flour taste.
- Slowly pour in the broth while scraping the brown bits from the bottom of the skillet.
- Allow the gravy to bubble and thicken.
- Nestle the pork chops back into the skillet, reduce heat, cover, and let simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Notes
If you have leftovers, store in a sealed container in the fridge. Reheat gently on the stovetop while adding a splash of broth to maintain moisture. The flavor deepens after a day, making leftovers even better!
