Preparation
- Lay out 2 slices of bread and spread soft butter on one side of each slice.
- Flip the slices over and on the inside of one slice, add a layer of shredded mozzarella.
- Top with 10 to 15 slices of pepperoni, followed by 1 to 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce.
- Add another small handful of mozzarella and close the sandwich with the other slice of bread, butter side facing out.
Cooking
- Heat a skillet on medium-low. Cook the sandwich for 3 to 5 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula until golden and cheese is melted.
- Let it rest for 1 minute before slicing and enjoy while warm and gooey.
Notes
Use medium-low heat to avoid burning. Covering the pan for 30 seconds helps melt the cheese without overbrowning the bread.
