  • 6 ounces real white chocolate bars, finely chopped Skip chips if possible, since bars melt smoother.
  • 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract Measure carefully, as a little goes a long way.
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract Rounds out the flavor.
  • a pinch of salt Enhances sweetness and brings balance.
  • for topping whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy Optional toppings for serving.

Preparation
  1. Add whole milk and heavy cream to a small saucepan. Warm over low heat until steam begins to rise.
  2. Turn the heat down to very low. Stir in finely chopped white chocolate until it melts completely and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Stir in peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. Adjust the mint flavor as desired.
  4. Pour into warm mugs and top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint candy.
  5. Serve immediately. If the mixture thickens while sitting, stir gently before serving.

Notes

Chop chocolate small for faster melting. Warm mugs before serving and stir gently to emulsify. Avoid boiling to prevent separation.
