Ingredients
  

Chocolate Layers
  • 8 oz Dark or semisweet chocolate bars Choose bars with 55 to 70 percent cocoa content for the best flavor.
  • 8 oz White chocolate bars Opt for real white chocolate made with cocoa butter.
Candy Topping
  • 4 candy canes Candy canes or peppermint candies Crush into a mix of dust and small shards.
  • 0.5 tsp Neutral oil (optional) Coconut or vegetable oil to loosen chocolate if needed.
  • 0.5 tsp Pure peppermint extract (optional) Add to white chocolate for a stronger mint flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate in a heatproof bowl over simmering water or in the microwave in short bursts.
  3. Spread the melted dark chocolate evenly on the prepared baking sheet and chill for about 10 minutes.
Layering
  1. Meanwhile, melt the white chocolate until smooth.
  2. Pour the melted white chocolate over the chilled dark chocolate layer.
  3. Sprinkle the crushed candy canes over the white chocolate layer immediately.
Setting
  1. Chill the bark in the fridge until set, about 30 minutes.
  2. Once set, remove it from the baking sheet and break into pieces.

Notes

Store in a cool, dry place. For variations, consider adding nuts or using different types of candy on top.
