Ingredients

For the Punch Base
  • 2 cups blanco tequila clean and smooth
  • 3 cups peach nectar or ripe peach puree for extra body
  • 1.5 cups orange juice freshly squeezed if possible
  • 0.5 cup fresh lime juice for that bright pop
  • 0.75 cup orange liqueur like triple sec or Cointreau
  • 0.5 to 0.75 cup grenadine for sweetness and the sunrise look
  • 1 liter chilled club soda optional, add just before serving
  • 2 cups sliced peaches fresh or thawed frozen
  • 1 to 2 pieces oranges sliced, for garnish
  • as needed cups ice lots of it, ideally large cubes or an ice ring

Method

Preparation
  1. Chill everything. Put your tequila, juices, grenadine, and club soda in the fridge a few hours ahead. Cold ingredients make a huge difference.
  2. Make a quick peach base. Blend 1 to 1.5 cups of fruit with some peach nectar until smooth. Strain if you want a silky punch, or keep it rustic. Add to a large, chilled pitcher.
Mixing
  1. Pour in tequila, orange juice, lime juice, orange liqueur, and remaining peach nectar. Stir gently. Taste. Adjust brightness with lime or sweetness with more nectar or grenadine.
Serving
  1. Add the club soda just before serving to keep it lively.
  2. Fill glasses with ice and pour in your punch. Slowly drizzle grenadine along the inside of the glass for a layered sunrise look.
  3. Garnish with a peach slice and an orange wheel, and serve immediately.

Notes

For a make-ahead option, mix the punch base up to 24 hours in advance without the club soda or grenadine. Keep it chilled and add these just before serving.
