Ingredients

For the crust
  • 24 pieces Oreo cookies Regular Oreos, not double stuffed
  • 1/4 cup Butter Melted for firmer cookie crumbs
For the filling
  • 8 oz Cream cheese Softened
  • 1 package Instant chocolate pudding mix For the chocolate flavor
  • 3 cups Cold milk To mix with the pudding
  • 8 oz Cool Whip Or any whipped topping
Optional toppings
  • Gummy worms Fun decoration, especially for kids
  • Mini chocolate chips For extra chocolate flavor
  • Sprinkles Colorful addition
  • Crushed candy For added texture and sweetness

Method

Preparation
  1. Crush the Oreos in a zip top bag with a rolling pin or using a food processor.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk until it thickens and let it sit for a few minutes.
  3. Beat the softened cream cheese until smooth, then fold in the Cool Whip. Stir in the prepared pudding to create the fluffy filling.
Assembly
  1. In a trifle dish, 9 by 13 pan, or a big glass bowl, add a layer of Oreo crumbs, followed by a layer of the chocolate cream mixture. Repeat the layers and finish with crumbs on top.
Chilling
  1. Refrigerate for at least 2 to 4 hours, ideally overnight to allow the layers to set and taste better.

Notes

For a smoother filling, ensure cream cheese is softened properly. The dessert tastes better when chilled. Serve in clear dishes for visual appeal. Can be customized with different Oreo flavors or pudding types.
