Main Ingredients
  • 36 cookies Oreo cookies Use whole cookies, including filling.
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese Regular cream cheese recommended for best texture.
  • 12 ounces chocolate for dipping (white, milk, or semi-sweet) Choose chocolate that melts well; adding oil can smooth it out.
Optional Toppings
  • to taste Sprinkles or chopped nuts For decoration and added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Smash the Oreo cookies in a bag or food processor until finely crushed.
  2. Mix the crushed cookies with softened cream cheese until combined.
  3. Scoop the mixture into small balls, about 1 tablespoon each, and roll by hand.
  4. Freeze the balls for 20 minutes to firm up.
Dipping
  1. Melt the chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.
  2. Dunk each ball in the melted chocolate, then place on wax paper to set.
  3. If desired, sprinkle colorful toppings or drizzle with more chocolate.
Serving
  1. Allow the chocolate to harden before serving.

Notes

Make ahead and store in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to two months. Enjoy experimenting with different types of Oreos for unique flavors. Cleanup is easier with lined trays.
