  • 10-12 pieces Twinkies, sliced lengthwise
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Make sure it's softened to avoid lumps.
  • 1 cup powdered sugar Adjust to taste.
  • 8 oz whipped topping, thawed Fold gently into the mixture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups strawberries, fresh sliced or thawed frozen and drained Ensure they are dried properly to avoid excess moisture.
Optional Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon strawberry glaze or a spoon of strawberry jam

Preparation
  1. Grab a 9x13 dish. Slice your Twinkies lengthwise, then line the bottom of the dish with them, cream side up if possible.
  2. In a bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing again until creamy.
  3. Fold in the whipped topping gently to maintain a fluffy texture.
  4. Spread half of the cream mixture over the Twinkies. Add a layer of strawberries. If using glaze or jam, drizzle a little over the berries.
  5. Add another layer of sliced Twinkies, then spread the remaining cream mixture on top.
  6. Finish with more strawberries. Cover and chill for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  7. Let it sit on the counter for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Chill time is crucial for the layers to set properly. Softer cream cheese makes mixing easier. Dry the fruit to prevent excess moisture.
