Ingredients
  

Cake Base
  • 1 box Graham crackers, enough to make 3 layers One box usually suffices.
Filling
  • 2 boxes Instant vanilla pudding mix Use two small boxes or one large.
  • 2 cups Cold milk Check pudding box for exact amount.
  • 1 container Whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed For a light and fluffy filling.
Topping
  • 1 container Chocolate frosting, ready made or homemade Warm slightly for easier spreading.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a big bowl, whisk the instant pudding mix with cold milk until it thickens, about 2 minutes. Then gently fold in the whipped topping.
Assembly
  1. Lay graham crackers in the bottom of a 9x13 dish in a single layer. Spread half of the pudding mixture on top.
  2. Add another layer of graham crackers followed by the rest of the pudding mixture. Top with one more layer of graham crackers.
Topping and Chilling
  1. Warm the chocolate frosting in the microwave for 10 to 15 seconds to loosen it up, then spread it over the top layer of graham crackers.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the layers to set properly.

Notes

If you have leftovers, keep them covered in the fridge. They stay tasty for 3 to 4 days. For a different flavor, consider using lemon pudding or adding fruit right before serving.
