Dough Preparation
- In a large bowl, dissolve sugar in warm milk and add yeast. Let sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- Mix in softened butter and egg until well combined.
- Gradually add flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
Assembly
- Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread softened butter, then sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, and chopped pecans.
- Roll it up tightly, slice into 12 pieces, and place them cut side up over the topping mixture in the baking dish.
Baking
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake buns for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Let cool for a few minutes, then flip onto a serving plate while warm.
