- In a heavy pot with a lid, heat oil on medium heat.
- Add a couple of popcorn kernels to test the heat.
- Once those kernels pop, add the rest of the kernels and sugar.
- Cover the pot and shake every few seconds while it pops.
- When popping slows down, remove it from heat immediately and dump into a bowl.
Notes
Don't let the popcorn sit in the hot pot as it can lead to sticky clumps. For best results, keep shaking the pot to avoid burning the sugar.
