Preparation
- Wash and dry the kale thoroughly. Use a salad spinner and pat the leaves dry with a towel.
- Remove the stems and tear the leaves into chip-sized pieces.
- Place kale in a big bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and massage into the leaves until slightly glossy.
Cooking
- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C). Spread the kale in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15 to 22 minutes, checking at 12 to 13 minutes. Chips are done when edges feel crisp and leaves look dry.
- Optional: Rotate the pan and gently flip pieces halfway through baking.
Notes
Cool completely before storing to maintain crispness. Use a breathable container for short-term storage. For softened chips, reheat in the oven for a few minutes.
