Honey Garlic Shrimp and Broccoli

Ingredients
  

For the Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Any honey works; warm if too thick.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce Low sodium preferred.
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh is best.
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice or rice vinegar Use as a tangy addition.
  • 1 teaspoon Cornstarch To thicken the sauce.
Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined Medium to large size preferred.
  • 2 cups Broccoli florets Fresh or frozen.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil or avocado oil For cooking.
  • to taste Salt and pepper Season to preference.
  • optional Red pepper flakes For heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, stir together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, lemon juice (or vinegar), and cornstarch. Set aside.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet on medium high with a little oil. Toss in broccoli with a pinch of salt. Add a few tablespoons of water, cover for 2-3 minutes to steam, then uncover and let any water cook off.
  2. Push broccoli to the side, add more oil if needed, and add shrimp in a single layer. Season lightly with pepper and cook for about 1-2 minutes per side until shrimp is pink and firm.
  3. Pour the prepared sauce into the pan, tossing everything together. Allow it to bubble and thicken for about 30-60 seconds, until glossy.
  4. Serve immediately, over rice or noodles, if desired.

Notes

This dish is best served right after cooking. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. Reheat carefully to maintain shrimp texture.
