Ingredients

For the Biscuits
  • 4 pieces Biscuits (homemade, canned, or store-bought) Fluffy and sturdy
For the Chicken
  • 2 cups Chicken breast cutlets or tenders Thighs can be used for juiciness, just keep thin
  • 1 cup Buttermilk Can substitute with milk and a splash of vinegar
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour Add cornstarch for extra crunch if desired
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Seasoning for coating
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper Seasoning for coating
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder Seasoning for coating
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika Seasoning for coating
For the Honey Butter
  • 1/2 cup Softened butter If using salted butter, taste before adding salt
  • 1/4 cup Honey Add more honey to taste if desired
  • 1 pinch Salt Optional, adjusted to taste

Method

Preparation and Cooking
  1. In a bowl, mix softened butter with honey and a pinch of salt to make honey butter.
  2. Slice chicken breasts into cutlets or use tenders, then pat dry.
  3. Dip the chicken in buttermilk, then coat in a mixture of flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
  4. Pan-fry the chicken in about half an inch of oil until golden and cooked through.
  5. Bake or warm the biscuits according to package directions or make homemade biscuits.
  6. Assemble by splitting biscuits, placing chicken inside, and spreading honey butter on the top half of the biscuit.

Notes

Keep the oil at medium heat to avoid an oily coating. Let cooked chicken rest on a rack to maintain crispiness. Optional: Add cayenne for a spicy kick or a slice of cheddar cheese for a cheesy variation.
