- In a small saucepan, combine chopped chocolate and milk over low heat.
- Whisk constantly until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add sugar gradually, tasting as you go to reach desired sweetness.
- Stir in a pinch of salt and heavy cream or half & half, if using.
- Remove from heat and serve immediately, topped with whipped cream or marshmallows if desired.
Notes
Serve fresh. Can be stored in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to three days. Reheat gently before serving.
