  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened Use full fat for best texture and flavor.
  • 1 cup sour cream Provides tang and creamy texture.
Flavor Additions
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese Gives the best flavor.
  • 1/2 cup bacon, cooked and crumbled Can use bacon bits if in a rush.
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped Adds freshness.
Seasonings
  • 1 pkg ranch seasoning mix Alternatively, use garlic powder and onion powder.
  • to taste salt and pepper Add at the end if needed.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it out for 30-45 minutes or microwaving it for a few seconds.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  3. Add the ranch seasoning and mix until well combined.
  4. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and chopped green onions.
  5. Chill the dip for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Serving
  1. Garnish with additional bacon, cheese, and green onions before serving.
  2. Serve with wavy potato chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes

Make ahead for best results. Add toppings right before serving for a fresh look. Keep dip cool during parties by placing the bowl in a larger bowl filled with ice.
