Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package refrigerated pizza dough or crescent roll dough Pizza dough gives a chewier bite, crescent dough is softer.
  • 8 slices deli ham Folded to fit in each stick.
  • 8 sticks mozzarella sticks Alternatively, use shredded mozzarella.
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter or egg wash For brushing over the dough.
Seasonings
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 optional crushed red pepper For additional heat.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the dough and cut it into rectangles, about 3 by 5 inches.
  3. Place a slice of ham and a mozzarella stick or a small pile of shredded mozzarella on each rectangle.
  4. Roll up the dough tightly around the filling and pinch the seams well.
  5. Brush the tops with melted butter or an egg wash and sprinkle with garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and salt.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  2. Let them cool for 3 to 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

To avoid soggy bottoms, keep the filling dry and use parchment paper. You can refrigerate assembled sticks for up to 24 hours before baking.
