Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 1 slab Slider rolls (Hawaiian rolls or soft dinner rolls)
  • 12 slices Deli ham (sliced thinly) Choose ham that is not overly watery
  • 12 slices Swiss cheese Cheddar or provolone can also be used
  • 1/2 cup Butter Melted for topping
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard Added to the butter mixture
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Poppy seeds Optional for a crunchy topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the entire slab of rolls in half horizontally, keeping the halves connected.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. Layer the ham evenly across the bottom half of the rolls.
  5. Add the cheese on top of the ham, overlapping the slices for maximum coverage.
  6. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  7. In a bowl, melt the butter and stir in the Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and poppy seeds if using.
  8. Brush or spoon the butter mixture generously over the top of the rolls.
Baking
  1. Cover the dish with foil and bake for about 15 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-8 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Allow the sliders to sit for about 3-5 minutes after baking to let the cheese settle.
  2. Cut and serve warm.

Notes

These sliders can be made ahead of time; assemble and refrigerate without the butter topping. Add the butter just before baking for the best texture. Pair well with pickles, potato chips, coleslaw, or fruit trays.
