Preparation
- Peel and chop the potatoes, then place them in a pot of salted water to boil.
Cooking the Beef and Gravy
- While the potatoes are boiling, brown the ground beef in a large skillet.
- Add the diced onions and minced garlic when the beef is halfway cooked, and let them sauté until fragrant.
- Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture and stir until well coated.
- Slowly pour in the beef broth while stirring constantly to prevent lumps.
- Add Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper, then let it simmer until the gravy thickens.
Finishing the Potatoes
- Once the potatoes are fork-tender, drain and mash them with butter, a splash of milk or cream, and salt.
Serving
- Serve the mashed potatoes topped with the ground beef gravy.
Notes
Leftovers hold up well in the fridge for 3-4 days. Keep mashed potatoes and gravy separate to prevent thickening.
