Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine softened butter and sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well.
  4. Gradually add the flour and mix until a dough forms.
  5. If the dough is sticky, refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Baking
  1. Roll out the chilled dough and cut into desired shapes.
  2. Place the shaped cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until golden around the edges.
