  • 1.5 pounds Shrimp, peeled and deveined Tails on or off, your choice.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Adjust to taste.
  • 6 cloves Garlic, minced Measure with your heart.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil Helps keep the butter from browning too fast.
  • 1 each Lemon Juice is the main thing, zest optional.
  • Salt and black pepper To taste.
  • Red pepper flakes Optional for heat.
  • handful Parsley, chopped For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
  2. Season shrimp with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Cooking
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat, adding olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter.
  2. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for about 1 to 2 minutes on each side, until pink and curled.
  3. Push the shrimp to the side, lower the heat to medium, and add the remaining butter and garlic.
  4. Stir the garlic for about 20 to 30 seconds until fragrant, but not browned.
  5. Squeeze lemon juice over the shrimp, toss to combine, and sprinkle with parsley.
  6. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

Notes

Serve with steamed rice, crusty bread, or roasted vegetables. Keep red pepper flakes on the side for picky eaters.
