Preparation
- Melt the butter on low heat in a big pot.
- Add most of the marshmallows and stir until the mixture is glossy and smooth.
- Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla and salt, if using.
- Add the cereal and gently fold until everything is evenly coated.
- If desired, fold in the extra cup of mini marshmallows for melty pockets.
- Press the mixture into a greased pan using gently buttered hands or a spatula, applying light pressure.
- Let it set for about 30 to 60 minutes, then slice and serve.
Notes
Wrap tightly or store in an airtight container to keep soft. The treats are best consumed within 48 hours. Can be customized with sprinkles or different cereals.
