Ingredients

For the cocktail
  • 1 shot Espresso (or strong brewed coffee) Must be cooled before use to avoid diluting the drink.
  • 1.5 oz Vodka Use a clean and neutral vodka for best flavor.
  • 0.5 oz Coffee liqueur Adds sweetness and deep coffee flavor.
  • 1 tsp Simple syrup Optional, adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 3 pieces Coffee beans For garnish, optional.

Method

Preparation
  1. Pull 1 shot of espresso (or use strong brewed coffee) and let it cool for a few minutes.
  2. Fill your shaker about halfway with ice.
  3. Add vodka, coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker.
  4. Shake hard for about 15 to 20 seconds until the mixture is loud and frosty.
  5. Strain into a chilled martini glass. For a smoother top, strain twice.
  6. If you have them, finish with 3 coffee beans on top.

Notes

Chill all components beforehand, use plenty of ice, shake vigorously for foam, and adjust sweetness to taste. Experiment with substitutions like flavored vodkas or different liqueurs.
