Preparation
- Pull 1 shot of espresso (or use strong brewed coffee) and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Fill your shaker about halfway with ice.
- Add vodka, coffee liqueur, cooled espresso, and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker.
- Shake hard for about 15 to 20 seconds until the mixture is loud and frosty.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass. For a smoother top, strain twice.
- If you have them, finish with 3 coffee beans on top.
Notes
Chill all components beforehand, use plenty of ice, shake vigorously for foam, and adjust sweetness to taste. Experiment with substitutions like flavored vodkas or different liqueurs.
