  • 8 tablespoons melted butter Melted butter for binding the crust.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Optional, adds crunch.
For the filling
  • 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk For adding creaminess.
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips Use a mix of milk and semi-sweet chocolate.
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows Plus a handful extra for topping.
Optional add-ins
  • to taste chopped chocolate bars For added chocolate flavor.
  • to taste peanut butter chips For a peanut butter variation.
  • to taste crushed pretzels To add a sweet and salty contrast.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8 or 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix the graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and optional sugar. Press it firmly into the prepared pan.
  3. Sprinkle the chocolate chips evenly over the crust.
  4. Scatter mini marshmallows across the top, covering most of the surface.
  5. Pour the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all ingredients.
Baking
  1. Bake for 22 to 28 minutes, until edges are lightly golden and the center is set but still a bit soft.
  2. For extra toasted tops, add a handful of marshmallows during the last 3 to 5 minutes of baking.
  3. Cool for at least 45 minutes before slicing for best results.

Notes

Press the crust firmly to avoid crumbling. Use parchment paper for easy lifting. Do not overbake; the center should remain soft. Cut bars with a warm knife for clean slices.
