Cooking Shrimp
- Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Add the wine and let it simmer for a couple of minutes.
- Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer, not crowding the pan.
- Cook the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are pink and curling into a loose C shape.
- Season with salt and stir in chopped parsley.
- Finish with fresh lemon juice or zest, and red pepper flakes if desired.
Notes
Serve over pasta, with crusty bread, or alongside a salad. This dish can also be lightened up by using half butter and half olive oil, or adding cream for richness. Shrimp cooks quickly, so keep an eye on it to prevent overcooking.
