Easy Rose Lemonade

Ingredients
  

For the Syrup
  • 1 cup sugar Or 3/4 cup if you prefer less sweetness
  • 1 cup water For making the syrup
Main Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice From about 5 to 7 lemons
  • 4 cups cold water Plus more to taste
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons rose water Start with 1 teaspoon
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances the lemon flavor
  • 2 to 4 tablespoons strong hibiscus tea Optional for color, cooled
For Serving
  • Ice
  • lemon slices
  • edible rose petals For garnish

Method
 

Make the Syrup
  1. In a small pot, combine the sugar and 1 cup water. Warm it over medium heat, stirring until the sugar fully dissolves. Turn off the heat and let it cool for 10 minutes.
Build the Lemonade
  1. In a pitcher, add lemon juice, 4 cups cold water, the pinch of salt, and about 3/4 of the cooled syrup. Stir.
Add Rose Water
  1. Slowly add rose water starting with 1 teaspoon. Stir and taste. Adjust by adding more in small increments if needed.
Make it Pink (Optional)
  1. Stir in a little cooled hibiscus tea until you achieve the desired color.
Chill and Serve
  1. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Pour over ice and add lemon slices. Float a few rose petals on top right before serving.

Notes

Start small with rose water; different brands vary in strength. Use cold water for dilution to cool down quickly. If the drink is too floral, add more lemon juice and water to adjust.
