Method
 

Assembly
  1. Put a tiny dab of frosting under each cupcake and set it on a sturdy board or platter.
  2. Arrange them tightly to avoid gaps, stepping back to check balance before frosting.
  3. Add a thin crumb coat by spreading a light layer of frosting over the top and sides, then chill in the fridge for 15 to 20 minutes.
  4. Frost again with a thicker layer, smoothing the top first and gently pulling frosting down the sides.
