Main Ingredients
  • 6 slices Bread (preferably thick cut) Brioche, Texas toast, or challah recommended for best texture.
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy) Unsweetened non-dairy milk works well.
  • 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon Adjust based on preference.
  • 1-2 tablespoons sugar or brown sugar Optional for added sweetness.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch salt
  • Butter or neutral oil for the pan For cooking.

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice your bread into sticks, typically 3 sticks per slice depending on thickness.
  2. In a shallow bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, sugar, and salt until smooth.
Cooking
  1. Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small pat of butter to melt.
  2. Dip each bread stick quickly in the egg mixture, ensuring not to soak them.
  3. Place the dipped sticks in the pan and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side, turning to brown all sides.
  4. Transfer to a plate and repeat with remaining sticks, adding more butter as needed.
