- Cook the shells in a pot of salted boiling water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until no longer pink. Drain excess grease if necessary.
- Add diced onion and cook for 2 to 3 minutes until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds.
- Add tomato paste and stir for 1 minute. Then pour in tomato sauce and beef broth. Stir in paprika, salt, and pepper. Let simmer for 5 to 7 minutes until thickened.
- Lower the heat and stir in the cream. Gradually add shredded cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine the drained shells with the sauce in the skillet, stirring to coat. Adjust the consistency with more broth or pasta water as needed.
- Allow to sit for a couple of minutes before serving to thicken slightly.
