Preparation
- In a large bowl, mix crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, egg, crushed crackers or panko, parsley, lemon juice, and Old Bay seasoning gently with a fork.
- Form the mixture into patties.
- Place patties on a plate, cover, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
Cooking
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add crab cakes to the skillet and cook until golden brown on each side, about 3-5 minutes per side.
Notes
For the best texture, use lump or jumbo lump crab meat. Chill the patties before cooking to help them hold together. These can also be frozen uncooked for future meals.
