Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 325°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
- Add the flour and mix gently until you no longer see dry flour. The dough may look crumbly at first but will come together.
- Shape the cookies by rolling them into 1-inch balls and flattening them, pressing the dough into a small baking pan and cutting into squares, or rolling out and using cookie cutters.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 12 to 16 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the pan for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Chill the dough if it's too soft or sticky. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 7 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
