  • 1 can Sweetened condensed milk This makes it creamy and stable.
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate) Semi-sweet is preferred for balanced sweetness.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter A little goes a long way for smoothness.
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract Adds a significant flavor to the fudge.
  • 1 cup Chopped walnuts Toast for extra flavor if desired.
  • 1 pinch Salt Helpful if the chocolate is very sweet.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Prep the pan by lining an 8x8 or 9x9 pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on two sides.
  2. In a saucepan on low heat, combine sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter. Stir slowly until smooth.
  3. Remove from heat, then stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
  4. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the mixture into the lined pan and smooth the top. Chill in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours until firm.
  6. Lift the fudge out using the parchment handles and slice into small squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week at room temperature, up to 2-3 weeks in the fridge, or up to 2-3 months in the freezer. Let sit out for 10 minutes before serving if desired to soften slightly.
