Method
Preparation
- Wash the strawberries and pat them dry thoroughly. Allow them to air dry completely to ensure the chocolate adheres properly.
- Prepare a tray lined with parchment paper for the dipped strawberries to rest on.
Melting the Chocolate
- Using the microwave method, melt the chopped chocolate in a dry microwave-safe bowl by heating in 20 to 30 second bursts, stirring in between until smooth.
- For the stovetop method, place a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water. Stir the chocolate until melted.
Dipping
- Hold each strawberry by the stem, dip it into the melted chocolate, and gently twist to let excess chocolate drip off.
- Add any desired toppings immediately while the chocolate is still wet.
- Place the dipped strawberries onto the prepared tray.
Setting
- Once all strawberries are dipped, allow them to sit at room temperature until the chocolate is set, approximately 15-30 minutes.
Storage
- Store in a single layer in a container lined with paper towels and keep in the fridge. Best served within 24 hours.
Notes
Keep strawberries dry and at room temperature for the best results. For additional variations, consider using different types of toppings or drizzles.
