Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 6 cups Cheerios Plain works best, but honey nut is also acceptable.
  • 2 cups mini pretzels
  • 1.5 cups bite size crackers Such as cheese squares or buttery mini crackers.
  • 1 cup peanuts or almonds Skip if nut-free.
Coating
  • 0.5 cup butter Melted.
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon Optional.
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt Skip if your mix-ins are already salty.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a very large bowl, add the Cheerios, pretzels, crackers, and nuts. Toss them so they’re evenly mixed.
  3. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar and honey.
  4. Keep stirring until the mixture looks smooth and starts to bubble a little, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  5. Turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  6. Pour the warm sauce over the cereal mix and stir gently to coat everything well.
  7. Spread the mixture onto the baking sheet in an even layer.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to prevent burning and to ensure a glossy, crisp texture.
  9. Let it cool completely on the pan. Once cool, break it apart and store it.

Notes

If you want the best crunch, let it cool fully before storing. Serve in a big bowl during movie night or pack into small containers for grab-and-go snacks.
