Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 8-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
- In another bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until smooth. Add the oil, yogurt, milk, vanilla, and black sesame paste; stir until glossy.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, stirring just until no dry flour remains.
Baking
- Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans and bake for about 24 to 30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool cakes in the pans for 10 minutes, then turn them out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
Serving
- Frost with your choice of frosting and optionally sprinkle toasted black sesame seeds on top.
Notes
For a lighter flavor, consider using whipped cream frosting, or for a richer experience, vanilla cream cheese frosting. Allow the cake to sit for a few hours for maximum flavor.
