Method
Beef Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Sear the sliced beef in a single layer for about 30 seconds to 1 minute per side until browned, then remove from pan.
Sauce Preparation
- In the same pan, add onions and mushrooms; cook until softened.
- Add garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Pour in beef broth and scrape up the browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Lower heat and stir in sour cream, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Return the beef to the pan and heat gently until everything is warmed through.
Serving
- Serve beef stroganoff over cooked egg noodles.
- Garnish with fresh parsley or chives if desired.
Notes
You can substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream if necessary. Best served immediately, but leftovers can be reheated with a splash of broth.
