  • 4 pieces Tilapia fillets Fresh or frozen (thaw if frozen)
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Salted or unsalted
  • 1 medium Lemon Juice and slices needed
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced or grated
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh herbs (Parsley or Dill) Dried herbs can be used if fresh is not available
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Adjust to taste
  • 1 pinch Paprika Optional for color

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Lightly grease a baking dish or sheet pan or line it with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
  3. Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel.
  4. Season both sides of the fish with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped herbs. Optionally, add lemon zest for extra flavor.
  2. Pour the sauce over the seasoned fillets and top with lemon slices.
Baking
  1. Bake the tilapia for 10 to 14 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
  2. Spoon additional buttery lemon sauce over the fish before serving.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven for best texture. For a cold leftover option, flake fish into a salad.
