Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Lightly grease a baking dish or sheet pan or line it with foil or parchment for easy cleanup.
- Pat the tilapia fillets dry with a paper towel.
- Season both sides of the fish with salt, pepper, and paprika if using.
Making the Sauce
- In a small saucepan, melt the butter and stir in minced garlic, lemon juice, and chopped herbs. Optionally, add lemon zest for extra flavor.
- Pour the sauce over the seasoned fillets and top with lemon slices.
Baking
- Bake the tilapia for 10 to 14 minutes or until it flakes easily with a fork and is opaque throughout.
- Spoon additional buttery lemon sauce over the fish before serving.
Notes
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven for best texture. For a cold leftover option, flake fish into a salad.
