Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a shallow bowl, stir together the sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
- Roll out the dough on a lightly floured board. If using crescent dough, press the seams to seal. Cut into bite-sized pieces, roughly 1 inch.
Baking
- Place the dough pieces on the prepared baking sheet and brush the tops with half of the melted butter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, until puffed and lightly golden, rotating the pan halfway through for even baking.
- While still warm, brush the remaining melted butter on the baked bites and immediately toss them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until evenly coated.
- Allow the churro bites to cool for a minute before serving. Enjoy warm with your favorite dip.
Notes
Use warm butter for coating to ensure it clings well. Toss in sugar in batches for even coating, and for extra crunch, bake the sugar-coated bites for an additional 1-2 minutes. For flavor variations, add cardamom or nutmeg to the sugar mix.
