Preparation

- Slice the apples and toss with brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon, salt, and lemon juice.
Topping
- In a bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
- Rub in the butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Assembly and Baking
- Place the apple mixture in a baking dish and sprinkle the oat topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake in the oven for about 30 minutes, until bubbly and golden.
- Let it sit for 15 to 25 minutes before serving.
Notes
For crispy topping, do not use melted butter. Let the crisp rest after baking for best results. Leftovers can be stored at room temperature for one day, in the fridge for up to four days, or in the freezer for two months.
