Preparation
- Add chicken to the slow cooker.
- Whisk together the teriyaki sauce ingredients and pour over the chicken.
Cooking
- Cook on LOW for 4 to 5 hours or HIGH for 2 to 3 hours until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Shred or slice the chicken as desired.
- To thicken the sauce, stir a cornstarch slurry into the hot sauce and let it cook for an additional 10 to 15 minutes with the lid slightly cracked until glossy.
- Finish with optional sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
Notes
The flavor improves if stored overnight in the fridge. Leftovers are great on nachos or in salads. For a spicy kick, add sriracha or red pepper flakes to the sauce.
