Preparation
- Put your chicken in the bottom of the crock pot.
- In a bowl, stir together BBQ sauce, Fireball, honey or brown sugar, soy sauce, and garlic.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and coat it well.
Cooking
- Cook on LOW for about 4 to 6 hours or HIGH for about 2 to 3 hours, until chicken is easily pulled apart.
Finishing Touches
- Shred the chicken in the crock pot with two forks.
- If a thicker sauce is desired, mix cornstarch with cold water, stir it in, and let it cook for another 10 to 15 minutes.
- Taste and adjust the flavor if necessary (add honey if too spicy, or vinegar/soy sauce if too sweet).
Notes
This dish can be served on buns, over rice, in tacos, with mashed potatoes, or on a salad. It can be made ahead and reheats well. For added flavor, consider pairing it with sides that cool down the heat.
